Welcome to the home of the Silver Mountain Alpine Race Team (SMART) – where young skiers grow into confident racers and lifelong mountain enthusiasts. SMART offers diverse training for skiers ages 4-17 who are looking to elevate their skiing abilities. Whether you’re just starting out in the alpine ski racing community, or chasing podiums – SMART has a dedicated, and experienced coaching staff to support all levels of athletes.

The SMART Race Team is designed for skiers ages 5-17 who are ready to advance their skills and compete in alpine racing. Athletes train two days a week, focusing on advanced fundamentals, gate technique, speed, and confidence. The program includes race support, travel opportunities, and a close-knit team culture.

Our coaching staff brings a deep blend of racing experience, instructional expertise, and a shared passion for developing young athletes. Collectively, our coaches have competed in the Evergreen Cup, NW Cup, and Collegiate circuits, with training from esteemed academies, colleges, and programs, giving them firsthand insight into the demands and excitement of alpine competition. All race coaches hold USSA Alpine Level 100 certifications, are First-Aid/CPR certified, and engage in yearly continuing education & training. Together, our coaches create a supportive, skill-focused environment that prepares athletes for success on the mountain and in competition.

All athletes must be able to ride the chair lift and ski "blue" runs comfortably. All athletes must wear helmet and goggles. Participants should dress prepared for the weather conditions. Signups are encouraged all season, and rates may be pro-rated. All race team parents are required to help at the Silver Cup race on March 20 plus one other league race. Parents must accompany athletes up the gondola.
